Things You Shouldn't Put In A Box

I recently spent a good deal of time with two friends of mine. They were, in fact, more distant friends or friends of friends, but they were incredibly fascinating to talk to. The pretty female friend was one of the most interesting people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.
The way they talked about the world portrayed great depth and meaning. Their dedication to their quests and ideas was beyond remarkable. They were, in my interactions with them, breathtaking. Their connections with each other and with me felt very deep and meaningful. Their method for acquiring the world's secrets was an awe-inspiring piece of art.
Unfortunately, there was a blind spot to their brilliance. A small dent in the tin. They lived in a world of boxes. It's, of course, the simplest way to store the massive amount of concepts that they had found in their intellectual journeys. They had boxes for everything, including themselves.
It wasn't without it's advantages. The level of introspection gained from these self boxes was almost unparalleled, but it was also blinding to the truth.
The truth is we live our lives from our experiences. All of our logic, hopes, dreams, and realities are teetering precariously on a shifting, ever-growing, foundation of emotional impressions we like to call memories. The truth is our state can be one of the biggest factors in the decisions we make and the things we feel.
I don't know what it is about the late summer air but it feels intoxicating sometimes. Sometimes I can walk in a park, feel the deep longings of my heart, and still be content for a moment. In moments like that it's easy to believe she exists, somewhere out there enjoying a sunset like this one.

In honor of the title above I've decided to compile a list (non-comprehensive) of things you probably shouldn't put in a box:

Cats
God
Peanut butter
One's own identity
Lit candles
Babies
Other people
Storm systems
Syrup

Live fish
Loaded crossbows
Bugs Bunny
Mexican Jumping Beans
